Purpose and goal

By creating tools for measuring and evaluating QoE, for example measuring probes and QoE agents, we can measure and estimate the users perceived QoE. Information that can be used to improve the user experience and create way for QoE-aware services. With QoE adjusted services we will satisfy the user´s needs better and give us the opportunity to offer right services to the right price at the right time based on the user´s own perception. These tools will also render the possibility for energy and data power savings and create new business opportunities for companies/organizations.

Results and expected effects

We will now through our theoretical model for QoE continuously, in real time, be able to estimate the user´s perception of quality something we have not been able to do before. We can take automated decisions for customized services. Our users will be happier and it will encourage to increased use of our services. This saves energy and computing power and we will be able to predict the need for resources. It gives us the possibility to create new ´QoE aware services´. Specific network measurement will however need a flexible infrastructure that makes cost efficient measurement possible.
