Important results from the project
The project has met the goal to develop SWIC to be more sustainable. 1. Reached more than 200 companies/researchers with our offer. Contracts with IUC and Stockholm Water(big development project) have been signed. 2. Opened up SWIC for Industrial Waste Water treatment. 3.Participated in three consortia sending proposals to EU Demo Call. The one we coordinated got 15 of 15 points.VTT has visited SWIC and we now discuss how they should join .Contacts also with China and chile. 4.Ordered a new and better instrumentation to SWIC from CACTUS.
Expected long term effects
SWIC has been opened up for stakeholders from Sweden,EU , China and Chile(researchers,companies,investors) which strengthen SWICs position. This means financial but also in the way that SWIC gets complementary knowledges. SWIC has also got the trust to develop the Sewage Waste Water Treatment plant of tomorrow both from EU but also from Stockholm Water. This strengthens SWICs position among researchers but also from problem owners. The established strategic research with China could be established because the SWIC Demosite seen as an entrance ticket.
Approach and implementation
To strengthen SWIC the work has been done in four areas. 1. Open up SWIC for more stakeholders. We have been in contact with a huge group but also signed contracts with IUC,Stockholm Water and some SMEs. We have also sent in three EU proposals and one of them seems to go through 5,2MEURO. 2. We have developed a proposal how to double the area and has also ordered a new intrumentation system for the plant. 3. New models for financing has been developed as well as a contract with KTH for financing of the running costs. 4. Increased export by implementation of the´ locomotive´ idea.
