Important results from the project

RISE has established contacts with several researchers and companies in Singapore, which has resulted in two submitted joint R&I applications, planned visits by researchers from Singapore to RISE and Millow, and concretized application ideas for more joint R&I projects. Common research challenges and goals have been identified, but also that cutting-edge expertise and research infrastructure are different between the actors in the different countries, and that we can complement each other well.

Expected long term effects

Transitioning to a sustainable & healthy diet is high on the agenda but the challenges are many. By connecting researchers in Sweden with leading researchers in other countries (Singapore), we can bring together our competencies and facilities to complement each other, paving the way for new R&I results. In both countries, there is direct contact with companies that take on, and become specialists, in their application areas, and by bringing them together new development steps can be taken.

Approach and implementation

The project started with RISE and Millow jointly identifying interesting companies and research actors in Singapore, and exchanging experiences of working with Asian actors. All the interesting players in Singapore were contacted to establish contact via an introductory Teams meeting. In this way, the participants were already familiar with each other during their visits to Singapore. The established contacts were deepened through during and after the visits, and have led to new collaborations.
