Planning grant for collaboration project on bicycle innovation

Purpose and goal

The aim of the project was to write a project application, which has been achieved. Even the purpose has been achieved. The aim was to gather a strong consortium of actors and to work out a proposal for a collaborative project with an organizational structure to identify and test innovations that contribute to increased cycling and strengthen the Swedish innovation system for cycling.

Expected results and effects

The outcome of the project is a well-developed project idea that is anchored in the working group and has been referred to the "Samverkansgruppen för framtidens resor och transporter" on two occasions. Work on the project has begun the construction of a network of stakeholders. Contacts have been taken with around 40 stakeholders in the bicycle area, with different types of organization and geographical residence. A number of technical, organizational, economic and legal barriers have also been identified which provide a good basis for formulating issues that can lead to innovation.

Planned approach and implementation

The project group has received ongoing feedback via email. The views of the working group and potential test bed owners have been incorporated into the idea sketch. Activities to coordinate the application have been: - Workshop with key actors on the orientation and organizational structure of the project - Contact and meetings with idea-owners - Contact with municipalities and regions that showed interest in being a test bed owner - Coordinate the writing and compilation of text to the idea sketch and present it to "samverkansgruppen", Vinnova and "Näringsdepartementet"
