The project is a planning grant project to develop a research and innovation project in an international call for proposals. Proposal to an international call for proposals has been submitted to HORIZON-CL4-INDUSTRY-2025-01-TWIN-TRANSITION-37.
Expected long term effects
If the international project is granted funding. Projektet CircSmeltSteel combines Europe´s expertise in metallurgy, materials science, steelmaking, steel mill technology, sensors and automation technology. The project will evaluate how steel properties are affected by varying raw materials with a focus on using by-products in electric furnaces. The initiative aims to position the EU as a leader in climate-neutral, resource-efficient, and high-quality steel production.
