Venture Advanced digitalization - Industrial needs-driven innovation
Call US collaborations in AI, digital infrastructure and cybersecurity Stage 2

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project is to explore and validate how physical AI and interactive digital twins can support analysis, interaction and decision-making in complex environments. The objective is to combine advanced 3D representation, multimodal AI, robotics and cybersecurity to develop methods enabling safe and reliable use of autonomous systems. The project strengthens preparedness, validation methods and digital forensic capabilities before physical AI is deployed at scale in society.

Expected effects and result

The project is expected to deliver a demonstrator connecting physical or simulated autonomous systems with interactive digital twins of complex environments. The results include methods for analysing, testing and validating physical AI, including aspects such as security, traceability and reliability. The project will also establish a long-term collaboration platform between Sweden and the United States and strengthen competence development through student exchange and joint experiments.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is carried out through close US/SW collaboration, combining research, system integration and experimental validation. The work builds on existing platforms for interactive digital twins and extends them through integration with physical AI, robotics and cybersecurity. By joint experiments, workshops and research exchanges, the demonstrator will be developed and evaluated in relevant environments. The project also includes the establishment of a long-term student exchange program.
