Important results from the project

All objectives were achieved. The aim was to strengthen the stage 2-proposal, mainly by participating in the planned physical meeting in Brussels together with the predefined industrial consortium. The aim was to jointly refine the project idea and ensure a strong and competitive proposal. The ambition was not only to achieve funding, but also to lay the foundation for a project with well-coordinated activities, realistic timetables and clearly anchored expectations between the parties.

Expected long term effects

PFAS are used both in manufacturing and in some medical products. These substances are highly persistent and pose a risk to both humans and animals. The aim of the main project is to reduce the use of PFAS, and where possible, replace them completely in the production of medicines and medical devices - without compromising human health.

Approach and implementation

The project was implemented as planned, although some tasks in the main project were changed from stage 1 to 2 to match the focus of the industrial consortium. The application work involved leading the work with WP4 in the proposal, as well as several activities in other WPs. Detailed planning of all RISE activities, including partners from the predefined industrial consortium, budgeting, and scheduling deliveries to collaborate with other WPs/activities. Partial funding of a writing agency.
