Important results from the project
Through the accelerator, OWTS has been developed towards dual-use: off-grid purification for civil use and field. The design has been adapted for easy operation, service, robustness and modularity. The system has been presented to civil defense authorities. The consequences are proposal for validation in the Baltic Sea area, the portable unit FosseGrim and the Eurostars project PFASfreeWATER (PFAS). The goal of understanding the requirements and networking has been met.
Expected long term effects
In the long term, the project provides better conditions for field testing in units, a clearer path towards NATO DIANA and increased opportunities for sales in Sweden and abroad – to both public and private customers. The platform can be used for crisis water, mobile infrastructure, troop-based FosseGrim and PFAS purification.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out as part of the accelerator program: workshops, networking and external environment/requirements studies. The knowledge was continuously fed into OWTS. The structure was right for Step 2. The schedule was largely followed. Full military requirements access and unit testing were not achieved – this requires an agreement, not more accelerator. The collaboration with the program worked.
