Important results from the project
Objective and focus areas of the project have been design for AM (DfAM) including reconstruction and optimization of the post processes for 3D designed and printed fixtures for tig welding robot. And to gain a better understanding of the value chain and the in-depth relationships between the project´s SMEs. and that we as clients understand what it is that the suppliers are able to 3D print and how they handle our requirements. = what we call "ordering competence".
Expected long term effects
The design and preparation work resulted in a development of the competence of participants but also in a demonstrator that clearly illustrates the possibilities of 3D printing. In addition to getting a better end product, understanding in the AM value chain was increased. The many roles in the project client, supplier, design for AM, production technology (SLM, EBM) machining resulted in a lot of rewarding experience exchanges. An important results was that the procurement exercise itself resulted in an embryo for a formalized procurement process for printed components. attache doc
Approach and implementation
Brogrens was project manager, acting commissioner and responsible for designing requirements and design, with his own techniques in the design work and was responsible for the machining. RISE assistant project manager, assisted in the design of requirements picture. In addition, RISE acted as technical ordering agent by reviewing and approving design changes and preparations before the suppliers started production. RISE also participated with its own engineering in the design work. AIM Sweden and Lasertech have acted as suppliers.
