Purpose and goal
The project aims to develop a methodological framework to formalise both a machine‑readable Target Operational Domain (TOD) and Operational Design Domain (ODD) in line with ASAM and ISO standards, and enable systematic comparison. The objective is to establish robust methods for scenario derivation, test requirements, and verifiable safety validation, including a traceable evidence chain supporting regulatory approval and safe, scalable deployment.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to deliver machine‑readable ODD and TOD representations aligned with ASAM and ISO, methods for comparison, scenario derivation and test requirements, and a verifiable evidence chain. The impact is increased transparency, improved safety validation, and stronger support for regulatory approval. It also represents a first step towards a larger EU initiative and future standardisation.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is executed through six integrated work packages, based on a real use case, from TOD and ODD definition in line with ASAM and ISO, through algorithmic comparison, to scenario derivation and test requirements. Methods are developed iteratively and verified via simulation and targeted physical testing, ensuring a coherent and practically grounded workflow.
