Important results from the project
The goal for this project is to develop a method and corresponding hard and software for automatic or semiautomatic documentation of outdoor telecom installations. Excavators or other machines used for installing ducts for fibre cables will be equipped with GPS equipment with centimeter precision and the coordinates will automatically be transferred to a documentation software database.
Expected long term effects
We expect that MTT-SUSU will give the possibility for documentation with higher precision than today´s methods and at only a fraction of the cost.
Approach and implementation
Hard and software modules will gradually during the coming 12 months be adopted for the new machine.
