Important results from the project
The project has the goal of developing and init the manufacturing of an advanced and cost-efficient high-voltage power supply for electron accelerators, by combining the expertise of three companies. Support from Vinnova, together with a well-functioning collaboration, has enabled the design to be completed and partially tested within the scope of the project. The work will continue independently, and the product is planned to be supplied for pilot testing to a selected customer in 2026.
Expected long term effects
The new high-voltage power supply enables cost-effective and flexible accelerator systems, resulting in broader market applicability. This, in turn, leads to significantly higher throughput and substantial energy savings – often up to 90% – while greatly reducing the need for hazardous chemicals
Approach and implementation
The challenges within the project have been: - establishing effective collaboration between the different parties, - securing access to the right resources, and - overcoming significant technical difficulties The technical challenges were not unexpected; however, the project lost considerable time early on due to collaboration issues and resource shortages, which caused us to fall far behind the original schedule.
