Purpose and goal
The project aims to develop, verify, and prepare for production a military-adapted, arctic-capable modular camera platform with real-time on-device analysis. The goal is to enable rapid, cost-effective, and reliable situational awareness in the field and support scalable integration into unmanned vehicles, and stationary sensor platforms.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to deliver a military-adapted prototype validated in arctic conditions, documented operational use cases, and a production and supply-chain plan. Effects include improved situational awareness, increased operational efficiency, and strengthened Swedish defense-industrial resilience through reduced dependency on foreign hardware.
Planned approach and implementation
The project combines user requirement analysis, technical development, laboratory and field testing, and preparation for industrialization. System requirements and tolerances for arctic conditions are defined, followed by parallel hardware and software optimization and assessment of a European supply chain to enable scalable and cost-efficient manufacturing. A prototype is validated and quality-assured ahead of production and integration into defense platforms.
