Miniaturized active aircooling for Electronics

Purpose and goal

Chillwind has successfully developed and demonstrated a functional product prototype for potential customer and has initiated discussion aiming at joint projects. A product design adapted for serial production is prepared and a test environment for long-term testing is prepared and tests are initiated. Production remains to be started, and sourcing of capital to initiate production is ongoing.

Expected results and effects

Chillwind has developed a new product design with a multitude of application areas and prepared for production. The journey from design start to enabled production start was made possible by the support from Vinnova. The resulting product is a very small fan with wide usability. The very low energy consumption and small form factor enables movement of cooling or heated air in small compartments in electronics, vehicles or even in wearable gear.

Planned approach and implementation

Chillwind executed a market survey while demonstration the first prototype for potential customers, and has carefully evaluated the outcome. The result was an updated product design strategy in order to increase usability in more application areas. The updated design concept has a wider usability range than the previous design, and meet more customer needs as expressed during the survey. Tests for EMC and lifetime studies are ongoing.
