Purpose and goal
Medicinteknikdagarna 2014 (MTD), which this year was held in Gothenburg, October 14-16 2014, is Sweden´s most important meeting place for medical technology. The aim was to collect all key stakeholders, such as the biomedical engineers, medical device companies, medical experts, medical researchers, representatives from healthcare, government, country´s medical technology clusters (eg CMTF, CMTH, MedTech West). An other aim with MTD 2014 was to offer MTF members a possibility for further education in special topics of immediate interest. All aims with MTD 2014 was fullfilled.
Results and expected effects
An important result of MTD 2014 is tthat Medicinteknikdagarna continues to maintain its position as one of the most important Swedish conference in the field of biomedical engineering.
Approach and implementation
Design and implementation of Medicinteknikdagarna 2014 is similar to earlier editions in all essential elements. Unique this time was the joint arrangement with the 16th Nordic-Baltic Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics (NBC16). What positive and/or negative effects this has meant for the MTD will be analyzed in more detail during the 2015.
