Important results from the project
The LOGFIN project aims to produce and analyze microlevel longitudinal financial data for Swedish sub-nationals and their subsidaries. Within this planning part of the project the aim has been to provide means for setting up a research data base, recruit the research group and plan five research work packages.
Expected long term effects
KI Finans, the debt management system that will generate the main data for the research, was launched in April 2014 and is already the most used financial software in the municipal sector. More than 100 sub-nationals, and hence their subsidiaries, will use the KI Finans by the end of 2014 and an additional 100 sub-nationals are expected to join in during 2015. Two PhD students and two senior lecturers (docent) have been recruuted. A research proposal for the full project will be submitted before Sept 1 to Vinnova.
Approach and implementation
The project has been pursued as was planned and in a close collaboration between the research group at Örebro University and staff at Kommuninvest.
