LASTA – Charging Infrastructure and Business Models for Excavated mass Transport on the open mArket

Reference number
Coordinator Ecoloop AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 18 815 523
Project duration November 2025 - November 2028
Status Ongoing
Venture Accelerate - FFI
Call Accelerera FFI system demonstrators - fall 2025

Purpose and goal

The purpose of LASTA is to demonstrate and enable electrified mass transport on an open market by testing vehicles, charging infrastructure, logistics and business models in a real environment. The goal is to develop scalable and cost-effective solutions that reduce emissions, maintain load capacity and provide new ways of working for transport management and planning. The project will also develop a basis for procurement, policy development and broad national scaling up of the segment.

Expected effects and result

The project provides results on how electrified mass transport can be introduced to the open market through testing of vehicles, charging infrastructure, logistics and business models in real operation. It creates new knowledge about costs, productivity, energy use and behaviors, and provides robust data for procurement, policy and investments. The effects will be reduced emissions, better working conditions, increased resource efficiency and a strengthened ability for broad national scaling.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is implemented as a system demonstration in a real-world setting, testing electrified mass transport in both northern and southern Stockholm. It is organized into six work packages covering project management, charging infrastructure, logistics, demonstrations, policy, business models and behavior. Data collection, driving tests, technology evaluation and analysis support the development of tools for procurement, operation and scale-up.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
