Purpose and goal

Kraftens hus is Sweden´s first support center for people affected by cancer that is initiated and designed by, for and with people affected by cancer. By offering emotional, social and practical support, Kraftens Hus is developing a new role in the Swedish welfare system of the borderland between cancer care and other societal functions. We have conceptualized the business, developed a dissemination model and examined issues regarding financial and legal structures for dissemination.

Expected results and effects

Within the project, we have produced a handbook that describes Kraftens hus´s offer, competence, quality and organization. This is to raise awareness and lay down core values that are important for maintaining these prior to possible upscaling and dissemination. A proposal for a spread model has been developed. We have also been given the opportunity to investigate various proposals for financial and legal structure for possible dissemination (eg the relationship nationally and locally).

Planned approach and implementation

The handbook, as well as the dissemination model, has been developed in collaboration with expertise from Coompanion. This handbook and model has been developed through interviews with key persons in the co-design of Kraftens hus, as well as workshops with people that have own experiences of cancer and board representatives from the various collaboration organizations. In collaboration with Delphi Law Firm, proposals regarding financial and legal structure for dissemination have been produced.
