Venture Test beds for society´s challenges
Call Test beds for the challenges of society - preparation project 2020

Important results from the project

The project has fulfilled its purpose - to be an arena for product developers, universities and the operating organisation. We have fulfilled the project´s objective regarding gathering inspiration for our now developed business plan and by successfully spreading information about the testbed. However, we had hoped for more physical tests, which were fewer than expected due to the Covid19 restrictions.

Expected long term effects

We have established the testbed within our organizations and within the drinking water society. The outcome regarding contacts with universities, product developers, innovation companies and students has exceeded expectations. The results regarding tests started in the testbed has, however, been lower than expected due to the Covid19 restrictions. An important lesson learnt was the importance of having technical staff who can work dedicatedly with the testbed in order to get it running.

Approach and implementation

As our concept is based on physical meetings between testers and operating business, Covid19 did put parts of the implementation on hold. However, we developed skills to carry out successful activities digitally. Our operating staff have had access to the premises and have been able to carry out tests meanwhile. During the preparation project we have developed a method of working with test-projects; from idea to implementation, with staff dedicated to support each phase.
