The Centre has in collaboration with industry produced two roadmaps on sustainable public transport, knowledge reviews and minor projects in collaboration with the regional partners. Ph.D. students, a Communications Officer and a director have been recruited. Communication is developing further.
Results and expected effects
Five R&D areas have been identified by collaboration with stakeholders in a future search workshop 2013, research groups have been established and the board of the K2 Centre has approved the final applications. The research groups will start Q1 2015. A survey of needs on training in industry and of university institutions where public transport is a theme have been conducted. Recruitment of Ph.D. students, postdocs and guest professors are proceeding. A new website will be established K2.
Approach and implementation
A board leads the Centre. The director, who implements the board´s decisions, runs the daily work. A management team with representatives from the three research organizations support the director. The Centre is guided by its 5-year business plan, a communication strategy, training and education policy, a R&D-policy and policy documents regarding recruitment of Ph.D students. The administration is headed by VTI who supports the Centre with training of all project managers involved in K2 activities.
