Important results from the project
The purpose of the initiative was to utilize freed capacity due to production restrictions during covid-19 to collectively increase competence and curiosity about new technologies in industrial processes. The target of 500 participants in the initiative in 2020 was exceeded as 736 people now have registered for the course. In evaluations, 94% of users state that they would recommend the course to a friend or colleague, 83% that the course was above their expectations and 94% that it has potential to create value for their company.
Expected long term effects
The aim was to increase knowledge and create a mental readiness among a broad group of employees for the digital transformation ahead. Course evaluations confirm great satisfaction with the course, knowledge has increased but whether the attitude and receptivity have changed is difficult to measure. After completing the course, a plan is given to the users based on own notes which, with collegial learning, will facilitate implementation of new knowledge in the workplace. We have not measured the use in practice.
Approach and implementation
In May and June, a pilot was carried out with 81 employees at project partners. These underwent the training and came up with input and amendments at the same time as new course modules were developed. It was an appreciated concept that had positive effects on usability. On 1 September, the education opened up for all and has since been marketed by the West Swedish Chamber of Commerce in digital channels and through seminars, network meetings and direct contact. The completion of user could possibly have increased with time-specified start-ups and more active engagement from employers.
