Purpose and goal
The purpose of this project is to create conditions for international collaboration with leading actors in the production of aerospace components as well as research institutes in additive manufacturing and materials science and thereby secure participation in larger demonstrator programs. The goal is to validate the Procada system´s ability to detect possible defects during the production process and limit their occurrence and size through closed-loop process control.
Expected effects and result
Additive manufacturing has been identified as a key technology for global competitiveness in industrial production. The project specifically strengthens the competitiveness of the Swedish aerospace industry in international collaborations, demonstrator programs and strategic partnerships by providing important knowledge about Directed Energy Deposition as a manufacturing process for innovative and sustainable products for aerospace systems.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will last for 6 months and is divided into two work packages, AP1: Mapping of international partners and AP2: Development and implementation of workshops. Under AP1 relevant demonstrator programs will be identified, such as Clean Aviation. Efforts will be made to establish collaborations with at least one large aerospace player and at least one system integrator. In AP2 workshops will be conducted that convey challenges with AM and potential benefits of Procada´s technical solutions.
