Purpose and goal
To verify the commercial concept of an Intermodulation AFM add-on system. To develop a solid business plan and to verify the technical possibilities of implementing this method on essentially any AFM. To refine the product concept and determine a price range for our product which is consistent with a sustainable business. To test the market by developing a working prototype and selling it.
Results and expected effects
We have developed the product and test it by collaboration with many local AFM scientists in the Stockholm area. This has has a very positive effect on the research of these scientists. We formed a company, Intermodulation Products AB, and have begun to market the product. We have demonstrated the product to many potential customers in Europe and the USA, and we are working intensively toward a sale.
Approach and implementation
Work was done in collaboration with the Section for Nanostructure Physics at KTH. Dr. Erik Tholen was partly employed with project funds to carry out much of the technical and commercial verification work. Other members of the group contributed with their research results.
