Reference number
Coordinator LiNPhA AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 000 000
Project duration November 2025 - August 2026
Status Ongoing
Venture Civil-military synergies
Call Acceleration of civil-military innovations by 2025

Purpose and goal

The goal for this project is to apply, and further develop, LiNPhA´s core technology to applications that have civil/military overlap. This goal will be pursued by interacting with companies specializing in dual-use use cases and prototyping devices needed for such identified use cases. By pursuing this goal LiNPhA will mature its business case and increase its capabilities to serve dual-use industries with critical technology for national resilience and increased device performance.

Expected effects and result

By the end of the project LiNPhA will have: • Interacted with companies (potential partners/clients) operating in sectors we have not explored yet to obtain civil/military market awareness. • understood new users´ needs within optoelectronic devices for military applications. • designed, implemented and tested TLFN prototypes addressing those needs. • established an updated business plan and IP strategy accounting for inputs from the market verticals identified during the project.

Planned approach and implementation

LiNPhA will carry out the following: 1. Investigation of design requirements for applications in both civil and military areas. 2. Mapping of the best product – (military) based on LiNPhA´s core technology. 3. Prototyping of the best product – (military) on the TFLN platform (thin film lithium niobate) with its favorable properties and enabling short manufacturing cycles. 4. Evaluation of LiNPhA´s business model to adapt it to value creation in both civilian and military areas.
