Important results from the project
Based on previous VINNOVA project an implementation of the proposed instruments is presented to create a complete system for new Swedish production of biofuels. The purpose is to practically and empirically investigate and propose how investments in biorefineries can be facilitated, which contributes to a circular and bioeconomy. Objectives: Complete a plan that describes how the project´s results are to be developed, implemented and utilized nationally. Analysis of expected volumes over time until 2045 to assess a future market for biofuels.
Expected long term effects
The long-term goal is to strengthen Swedish production of new biofuels and thereby reduce the transport sector´s climate impact. The expected effect is to increase the competitiveness of Swedish technologies in order to get these commercialized based primarily on forest products. Impact goals are met by: Instruments and laws that promote a bioeconomy - an analysis of proposed instruments to replace fossil fuels. Complementary instruments for future funded project which can contribute to more factories with increased production of biofuels nationally and internationally.
Approach and implementation
Through information gathering nationally and internationally, steering group meetings and meetings with a larger reference group as well as a workshop with a seminar and interviews with representatives, it has been possible to clarify how the actors view an implementation of the policy proposals. This clarification forms a basis for the concrete analyzes, including funding of investments with recommendations. The project ended with a webinar on 22 September 2021 where the report was presented and a press release was released.
