Important results from the project

Swedish universities and university colleges have local research schools with university-specific mandatory courses and subject-specific courses. The project has supplemented the local course offerings with more subject-specific and research-supporting courses where participants are given a platform to collaborate with doctoral students from other universities within their research area. All of the project´s performance objectives are considered to have been met.

Expected long term effects

The goal has been to run a national graduate school within the Production area to provide conditions for high-quality education & networking. The graduate school has continuously contributed to mobility between academia, institutes and industry through the participation of all mentioned parties, created incentives for collaboration on innovation projects, and provided access to a digital platform for courses that provides increased access to Production expertise nationally.

Approach and implementation

The project has followed a previously well-established process that includes routines for the inclusion of new courses, for course development, advertising and registration of course participants, for course evaluations and registration of results, and for compensation to course providers. The planning of the courses included in the project has been dynamic and adjusted according to perceived needs and teacher availability.
