Reference number
Coordinator Kaj Mickos Aktiebolag - Innovation Plant
Funding from Vinnova SEK 300 000
Project duration April 2014 - October 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal was that through innovative meetings between need identifiers and entrepreneurs develop commercially viable products / services, facilitate knowledge transfer and promote unexpected collaborations. The goal was to produce at least one project per entrepreneur. The end result satisfies both the purpose and objective of the project. We developed five commercially viable products / services, and in the survey we did after the Innovation Race all entrepreneurs found that they had learned a lot about development and innovation processes. There was also some collaborations.

Results and expected effects

Through Innovation Race 1 need identifiers and entrepreneurs met and developed innovative solutions to verified needs. During the implementation written draft applications for the Pilot Project 2014 for all five projects were developed. Of these, two projects chose to apply while three chose to finance the development themselves. Those who participated in the Innovation Race 1 feel that they learned a lot about innovation processes and innovative meetings and our partner Innovationsfabrik Småland got a training session on how to run successful innovative meetings.

Approach and implementation

Innovation Race is a proven rapid innovation process developed by Kaj Mickos, emeritus professor of innovation technology. As part of Mötesprojektet 2014 the process was adapted slightly to better meet the income and outcome targets and stick to the directions given by Vinnova. Conducting a Meeting Project in the form of an Innovation Race was successful, we reached our goal, and the participants were very pleased with the results and what they learned during implementation. We carried out two projects in a parallel meeting which we think had positive effects.
