Reference number
Coordinator Örebro universitet - Handelshögskolan
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 800 000
Project duration October 2011 - June 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

From the application:´qualify myself to full professorship, develop my skills in academic leadership, and build a research group in the area of information security in eGovernment.´ I was promoted to professor 1/1-2016 & been acting Vice-Dean of the Faculty ENT since 2013 & has been the main supervisor for a PhD student who graduated in 2015. With Prof. Wihlborg (LIU), I have an emerging research group in eGovernment and values with a unique profile. I have also helped to develop the research group in information security at Örebro University. Goal achievement has been really good :)

Expected results and effects

Vinnmer has contributed to very good results. I have been appointed professor & received additional financing of over 3 MKR as PI (FORTE and Vinnova) as a direct result of Vinnmer project. I have published 20 articles during the project period. In addition, I have additional research applications (Vinnova) and a manuscript submitted together with Prof. Wihlborg. The only thing not achieved is a specific research group in information security and eGovernment. But as I´m part of the research groups in eGov (LiU & ÖU) and in information security (ÖU), cooperation between them has increased.

Planned approach and implementation

The openness of Vinnmer based on self-reflection about what is important for one´s career development and research field has been a prerequisite for the success. However, it presupposes that the researchers who have this type of financing is committed in their research, combined with follow-up of results. The collaboration with Linköping University has been very important to develop a unique and interdisciplinary profile in the research field of eGovernment.
