Important results from the project

The project shows that industry is ready for the next generation of decision support systems. By combining historical data with real-time information, the understanding of the current state improves. Expected long term effects

Hugin & Munin is expected to play a key role in future value chains by supporting planning and the management of variation and uncertainty. As a leading partner, LKAB has demonstrated the ability to apply the system in practice, strengthening both their delivery capability and their position as a role model in Swedish industry. The project also provides other industrial companies with insights into the opportunities and challenges of similar systems applications.

Approach and implementation

The project followed the planned work packages. The first phase focused on gathering information and discussing LKAB’s operations and insights for future system support. The second phase involved developing and applying the concept. Because of the change in global IT security, several packages were affected and caused data handling bottlenecks. The project was completed as planned.
