Purpose and goal
Develop an industry-scale process for plastics identification and sorting for recycling at ultra-high accuracy and high throughput with Identinano´s nanoAI technology.
Expected effects and result
The extreme high accuracy of plastics identification, combined with a very high throughput allows for materials recovery facilities (MRFs) that will be equipped with Identinano´s technology to recover the unsortable plastics and other materials that are otherwise destined for incineration. The environmental and economical impacts of that could be truly transformative.
Planned approach and implementation
At Identinano we´ve collected 20+ years of experience of research in nanosensing, combined with the competence in advanced optics, electronics and design software while using state-of-the-art engineering that combines all these aspects into a streamlined fully operational high-tech equipment. We plan to produce a fully functional industry-scale prototype unit to be installed on the existing equipment at one of the partner MRFs.
