Important results from the project

The project reached and in several parts exceeded the goals and has significantly strengthened HETCH. The goal of 50 startups became 58, of which 39 are active. The community has grown to +850 members (goal 500). The investment goal (6) far exceeded, 32 investments/follow-up 2023–25, total ~300 MSEK, the network +220 investors incl. new business angels. The programs are established with clear processes, more female founders. Collaboration strengthens HETCH´s position in northwestern Skåne.

Expected long term effects

The project contributes in the long term to a more cohesive innovation system in Skåne, especially in the northwest where support has previously been low. We expect increased attraction for talent and access to capital, higher survival of portfolio companies, more diversified teams and a faster way from idea to scaleup. Deeper collaboration between incubators, academia and investors raises quality and equality/sustainability drives societal benefit with an ecosystem that supports growth.

Approach and implementation

HETCH hired an incubator manager and a part-time resource, which strengthened the foundation for company building. A sustainability structure and new processes for the incubator phase were developed. Through resource exchange in the second year of the project, the focus was then increased on operational work and activities towards students and talents to promote entrepreneurship. At the same time, the collaboration with Region Skåne, universities and other actors was deepened.
