End-of-project report 2015-02327.pdf(pdf, 2788 kB) (In Swedish)

Purpose and goal

To reduce CO2 emissions from on-road transports. Is it possible to use to reduce CO2 emissions from road transport? Is it possible to safely integrate high-capacity vehicles into existing infrastructure? To calculate performance for a number of different combinations. This can then be used as a basis for legislation for heavier and longer combinations. All in order to ensure that the new combinations are designed in a manner that ensures stable and efficient vehicles.

Expected results and effects

Validation against test run test with a combination of sensors that measure rearward amplification. Development of calculation and simulation models based on NVF-1/2007 "Vehicle combinations based on the modular concept" Simulation and evaluation of values based on performance

Planned approach and implementation

Almost all of the studied vehicle combinations fulfill the Swedish Transport Agency proposed special requirements for 74 tonne road transports. Typical vehicle combinations longer than 25.25 meters are generally better for rearward amplification than a standard 64 tonne timber truck with trailers. The timber truck combinations here can represent a relatively common but not optimized for stability. The combination is primarily optimized for accessibility.
