Purpose and goal

Gro Life EDU is a play- and game platform for multi-player use in schools, with the purpose to further engage students in the daily learning process in an holistic manner. We have succeeded in developing a beta of the game. We have also succeeded in launching the game in schools and then studied the user behaviour and performed focus groups and interviews with both students and teachers to validate the product and needs.

Expected results and effects

-To increase use of ICT in schools regarding creation and development, especially in segments that are usually less strong in these fields due to low age, lower ICT maturity or lack of resources. -To facilitate accessible tools that are easy to use for teachers and students. -To increase engagement and creativity among students and also to inspire to further creation with more advanced digital tools. We have validated all of the above to a certain degree, but we need to develop the game further and test on a bigger audience to identify what parts that has the biggest potential.

Planned approach and implementation

-Research and interviews with pedagogs and students regarding issues like behaviour, problems, needs, and possible solutions. -Prototype development -Tests and iterations in close collaboration with schools - pedagogs and students. -Alfa-product development -Launch of beta-version of product in Swedish schools - Evaluation of results. Definition of next steps. We are very happy to conclude that our initial plan worked out also in the actual execution thanks to a smooth and agile collaboration between Gro Play and HSR and with the support from enthusiastic teachers and schools.
