Webbinarier, fysiska workshops och slutkonferens. Övningstillfällen för att applicera framsynsmetoder på verkliga stadsutvecklingsområden. Framsynsmetoderna har stor potential att stärka kommunernas planeringsarbete. Vikten av samverkan och dialog mellan olika aktörer. Framsynsmetoder bör integreras i samhällsplaneringsprocesser.

Expected long term effects

An understanding of the value of foresight among civil servants has been established and a demand for its continuation is clearly present. The scenarios from megatrends (digitalization to extreme climate) showed the need for additional tools than the existing ones in order to avoid planning through the rearview mirror. The value of increasing the breadth of actors who actually influence planning for 20-40 years ahead when many civil servants and politicians are not active provided perspective.

Approach and implementation

The goal is to spread and practically apply foresight methods in urban planning in Halland. Halmstad and Varberg municipalities, RISE, The university college in Halmstad, Fredblad architects and regional actors have introduced tools such as trend analysis, future wheels, scenario planning & backcasting. Knowledge-raising webinars, physical workshops at selected locations and a final conference. Practical exercises to apply foresight methods to real urban development areas.
