Financing doctoral research on "Firms and financial markets in a changing world"

Important results from the project

Vinnova’s and the Jacob Palmstierna Foundation’s funding has supported approximately five FTE PhD students over four years in financial research at SHoF and the Stockholm School of Economics. The program included coursework, research, and minicourses with international experts. The project also financed the participation of 7 female PhD students in the WICB workshop, which aims to increase diversity and strengthen women’s representation in monetary and financial research in the EU and the USA.

Expected long term effects

The generous funding from Vinnova and the Palmstierna Foundation has enabled more PhD students in finance to complete their studies and graduate. In the long run, these researchers contribute to strengthening Sweden’s competence and innovative capacity in the field of finance. Through their expertise, they promote knowledge dissemination and development within academia, the public sector, and industry, both nationally and internationally.

Approach and implementation

The project followed the plan and was successfully carried out at the Stockholm School of Economics. The funding enabled five PhD students to conduct research on financial markets, climate regulation, and sustainable investments under the supervision of leading scholars. All activities were completed according to schedule without major obstacles, and the results met expectations in terms of both quality and scientific development.
