Purpose and goal
On today’s transparent battlefield, low EM, RF, and IR signatures, effective camouflage, and the ability to quickly produce critical components in extreme conditions are essential. This project addresses that need by developing a robust, field-adapted 3D production system with machinery, materials, and software. The system enhances signature control, flexibility, and rapid materiel supply in combat environments.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to deliver field-ready 3D production capabilities to the Swedish Armed Forces that reduce detectable signatures, enable rapid creation of mission-critical parts, and improve resilience in harsh environments. The outcome strengthens unit autonomy, speeds materiel supply, and enhances operational flexibility and survivability on the modern transparent battlefield.
Planned approach and implementation
Rapid Dimension adapts the platform for harsh environments and extreme climates. Add North develops signature-concealing 3D materials. RISE tests and validates results. The project begins with a kickoff meeting where scope and objectives are set into milestones, which are continuously verified between the partners, as well as the Swedish Armed Forces, throughout the project.
