Important results from the project
Odlande Stadsbasarer 3.0 has worked in an Offentlig-Privat-Ideell-Innovationssamverkan during a period of great challenges when society closed down. Odlande stadbasarer www.odlandestadsbasarer.se aimed to establish socially driven, climate-protected farms for the employment of the long-term unemployed in a cross-sector collaboration. Södertörns Högskola and their international education in Social Economy participated, we had lectures and study visits. We were able to ensure that the implementation went well and focus on finding solutions and achieving results.
Expected long term effects
In Stockholm and Helsingborg cultivation facilities were built a total of 3 cultivation pilots with scaling up vertical LED cultivation systems for indoor cultivation all year round in climate-adapted spaces. Through the partnership, marketplaces were established for around 40 subcontractors with innovative solutions, who employed around 50 people newly employed through AF. About 3,000 visitors at Odlande Sta physically and digitally, we have developed cultivation recipes and contributed to the internationalization of the technology and export to the USA, Norway and Finland.
Approach and implementation
Through a unique collaboration, through the partnership´s 5 AP, we have been able to build several different tests within the project where Helsingborg with unique, nitrogen & phosphorus precipitation in the sewage plant contributed with fertilization which could be directly tested in cultivation, good results. We have published an article about the innovation we were able to test cultivation recipes that lowered the production cost and shortened the production time by up to 30%. We have a climate-safe urban production that fits well in outer city areas and can contribute to more jobs.
