Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project is to better understand the priority needs of the tenants and their relatives regarding security and the opportunities for digital support in everyday life. Based on this, we will investigate how enabling technology with, among other things, IoT can be integrated as part of “Trygghetsboende” (extra-care housing) operations and in the tenant´s home. The goal is also to be able to understand the conditions for being able to build a future test bed within the “Alllmännyttan”. In the test bed, collaboration between different actors can also take place.

Expected results and effects

The project aims to provide new knowledge about the elderly´s need for security and digital participation as well as possible IoT solutions that are adapted for secure housing. Digital supervision can result in increased security, reduced perceived loneliness, reduced number of falls. Digital communication with e.g. health centers and relatives strengthen individuals and reduce the risk of ill health. The above helps to reduce the pressure on care and care service and prolongs the time in own residence. We intend to create a test bed for collaboration on the accommodation.

Planned approach and implementation

Eksta is the coordinating project partner and is responsible for project management and reporting. Other parties: Kungsbacka municipality; Tekniska Förvaltningen, Vård och Omsorg, as well as the Municipal Management Office, Chalmers CVA, the University of Borås, Lund University, RISE and Krook & Tjäder, TH1NG and Jonas Enebrand AB. The parties will contribute expert knowledge and will collaborate in different focus areas. All parties have a responsibility for communication and to contribute to the test bed becoming a reality.Tests will take place in a real environment.
