Purpose and goal

The goal of the project was to develop a customized pivot solution for the marine / offshore market. Both new design solutions for easy disassembly and new material properties has been developed during the project. Certification according to DNV 2: 22 / OS, E-101, API 8C / ISO 13535 of the above is completed and approved. Calculation Tool according to DNV 2: 22 / OS, E-101, API 8C / ISO 13535 is completed and approved.

Expected results and effects

The technical concept is completed and meets the standards DNV 2:22, DNV-OS-E101 and API 8C / ISO 13535. A strength analysis tool has been developed to validate the stresses at given external loads. Also the calculation tool meets the above standards. Marketing operations are started in Scandinavia and in the US, and test series for ´Expander Marine´ made for removal have been delivered to a number of pilot customers for validation. New market segments and customers have been added. The need is for the Expander concept is substantial in the marine/ offshore environment.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was divided into seven phases, beginning with mapping and analyzing the market needs. This was followed by the construction phase where the emphasis was to obtain one, for offshore / marine, standard-approved product. The design, material and strength was classified according to DNV 2: 22 / OS, E-101, API 8C / ISO 13,535. The project has been developed together with marine/ offshore industry customers and suppliers. Finally, test series is delivered for evaluation to pilot customers.
