Purpose and goal

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The purpose of the competence project has been to support AstaZero´s opportunity to participate actively within Euro NCAPs´s various work groups. Both those who work to develop and release the next protocol, in this case towards 2023, but also those who work to follow the development of the Euro NCAPs road map towards 2030. The work continuously gives AstaZero increased ability to be able to contribute actively in the working groups and work internationally. Through this, we build an ability to meet the future test needs of the automotive industry.

Expected results and effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** AstaZero has actively contributed to the various working groups by carrying out exploratory testing in order to assess the robustness of test methods. AstaZero has also contributed in the group for the rating of heavy vehicles in order to be able to choose safe transportation. This supports Euro NCAPs´s long-term plan, which aims to drive technical development within the automotive industry to reduce the number of serious and fatal accidents in European traffic. It also supports the Swedish Transport Administration´s work towards 0 deaths in traffic.

Planned approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** AstaZero has actively participated in the various working groups both on site at Euro NCAP, but also at various workshops around Europe arranged by various members of the working groups. AstaZero organized a larger workshop in 2022 where a large part of the European automotive industry had the chance to familiarize themselves with AstaZero´s facility. Meetings have, with the pandemic, shifted to a greater proportion of Team-based meetings than physical ones, slow down and which slowed down the work and led to the 2022 protocol being postponed to 2023.
