Important results from the project

Escalate is a program with the aim of lifting foreign born entrepreneurs to the next level through concrete support within business development, sales development, marketing and organisation. The program will also offer entrepreneurs support to find external funding through business angels and VC-companies. The program has involved in total 7 companies and they have responded well on the program. There have been over 80 different activities during the program period and the methodology for how to work with the target group has been tested and refined.

Expected long term effects

The project aims to create a sustainable accelerator working with foreign borns so that they can scale up their companies and increase know ledge. This has been proven to work within the project, the participating companies have had a very good development. It w ill also show how the human capital in the region is allocated and how the existing innovation system can be improved toward this target group and this knowledge has been shared in workshops and seminars towards the existing innovation system.. In long term the project will create jobs a follow up on this will be done 2017.

Approach and implementation

The companies have been part of an accelerator program has provided them with - personal coaching - networking activities - activities with other start-ups in the region - meetings w ith investors and investor readiness programmes (pitch training) - if needed help with producing business plans, presentation material etc The respons from the participants have been very positive, but we have also concluded that the need of individual support is bigger compared to joint activities. So in future programs focus will be more on how to make the program even mor tailor made.
