Energy-efficient and autonomous marine transportation system

Reference number
Coordinator Cstrider AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 983 000
Project duration November 2025 - August 2026
Status Ongoing
Venture Civil-military synergies
Call Acceleration of civil-military innovations by 2025

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project is to investigate potential dual-use of the Cstrider transport system and any need for adaptations for dual-use. Intended areas of use are supply and medical transport in an archipelago environment or when fixed water crossings are unusable inland. An additional application could be evacuation.

Expected effects and result

Participation in the accelerator program aims to enable the development and sale of Cstrider for dual-use. The focus is on marketing and sales efforts and to establish strategic partnerships, suppliers and investors. Currently, there is a lack of financial resources to prioritize this, but the hope is that the program will contribute with support and relevant matching. The project´s ambition is to enable military and civilian crisis use of the civilian product with minimal adaptations

Planned approach and implementation

The project is planned to be implemented in six work packages: 1. Project management, follow-up and reporting, 2. Mapping customer segments, user needs and estimating market size, 3. Mapping needs for adaptation of communication interfaces and interoperability, 4. Adapting the vessel design for international container transport, 5. Participation in accelerator programs. The project is planned to start v545:5 and end v628:5
