Purpose and goal

The goal of the project was to: 1. create a logistics systems for more efficient collection. 2. a sales systems for a higher degree of reuse. The competition has delivered above expectations on both of these goals with the aim of accomplish the target set forth be the Environmental Protection Agency developed in 2013, which states that recycling of textiles should be doubled before 2020.

Results and expected effects

The objectives of the project was to: - Double our recycling / collection of textiles within 3 years. - Develop a quantifiable indicator of how well municipalities fulfil the Environmental Protection Agency´s 2020 targets. What the first goal is concerned, it remains to see. That being said, since we started to upload our containers into the digital system we have managed to densify our collection with ~100 more containers in the Skåne region. Concerning the second goal the IoT system developed is capable of measuring the collected volume of textiles for a given municipality in real time.

Slightly later than planned. - As planned, we held a preparatory workshop on March 9th. - The pitch was moved to the 28th of April, a few weeks later than planned. - The award ceremony took place on 1st of June at Scania Social Innovation Day. - Two people from the winning team then joined Emmaus to begin the implementation of the IoT system on a larger scale.
