Drone swarm challenge 2025 |
Purpose and goal
The project aims to develop an autonomous drone swarm where at least two drones collaborate with different responsibilities. The goal is to achieve fully autonomous flight with object detection, dynamic target prioritization and drone-to-drone coordination via radio link.
Expected effects and result
The project delivers autonomous drones with swarm coordination and computer vision. The results enable future applications in Search-and-Rescue, disaster management and infrastructure monitoring. The solution is flexible, scalable, built with standard components, and demonstrates alternatives to commercial systems. The project´s knowledge is shared through a report to Vinnova and a scientific publication.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will be implemented December 2025-July 2026 and includes drone system development, with demonstration in May 2026.
