Purpose and goal
The pre-study addresses the automotive industry´s heavy reliance on outdated and EDI-based supply chains that are costly, inflexible and lack support for real-time data, traceability and circular processes. The project goals are to develop new supply concepts for both high and low volume flows, based on modern cloud services, APIs and standardized processes. This facilitates circular value flows, easier supplier integration, and more efficient logistics with reduced environmental impact.
Expected effects and result
The pre-study is expected to result in recommendations and specifications on improved supply concepts for high and low volume flows, and how the new EU sustainability legislation should be implemented. Furthermore, the project will communicate and disseminate project results and prepare and plan for next project stages.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will be conducted by a strong consortium, led by Mobility Sweden and in collaboration with Volvo Cars, Volvo Group, Chalmers, FKG, Altiro Consulting and IconsOf. The work has been divided into the following four work packages: A) Project management and information dissemination, B) Concept for high-volume flows, C) Concept for low-volume flows and D) Implementation of EU sustainability legislation. The pre-study will start in mid-November 2025 end in end of May 2026.
