Purpose and goal

The project´s goal was to develop the Digital Health Days - an international conference focusing on: mHealth, Big Data Analytics and Gamification/Games for better health. The conference was held August 21-22 with more than 400 participants. The aim was well achieved - to create a venue for different sectors relevant for the future of health and healthcare, incl life science, ICT and creative industries. The conference had an interesting mix of participants who created a dynamic meeting. The content of the seminars and workshops were a good mix of visionary views and practical solutions.

Results and expected effects

With Digital Health Days, we have created a venue for new meetings and discussions about solutions and business models in health and health care. We expect this to accelerate the emergence of an ecosystem where established companies, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers and healthcare providers can find new and efficient forms of collaboration. Based on feedback from participants, the conference has created many new business contacts and provided inspiration for new developments in the digital health space.

Approach and implementation

Stockholm Science City and Kista Science City was responsible for program content. A reference group with representatives from IBM, STING, Swedish ICT, Games Industry, Stockholm University, Karolinska Institutet, KTH and SBRD was involved. Stockholmsmässan was responsible for carrying through the conference. The conference included seminars, workshops and panel discussions. Some workshops were organized by individual organizations. Preparatory work and implementation has worked very well. Important for future planning is that sem and workshops fit into the big picture.
