Purpose and goal

Project aim is to create a meeting arena for East African female Diaspora in Sweden and established Swedish companies that have shown interest in investing in Africa but lack knowledge and contacts. The aim of the meeting arena is to access needs,develop innovative ideas and to formulate a project idea. The process for ´Meeting/market place for needs assessment facilitators and entrepreneurs is designed och preparations for work plan developed. Contacts with some East African Embassies and respective countries have been implemented and the interest is huge.

Results and expected effects

Meeting place has been created and is clear for it the continued work - an active dialogue and exchange of ideas that can lead to practical results of common interests in order to shape innovative ideas that meet the needs of the new African market. Connections that can create possibilities to investments, trade and to promote strategic partnerships - Test- consumer market identified - 7 East-African Diaspora women mobilized - Engaged at least 5 entrepreneurs

Approach and implementation

- Two visits to test - consumer market to Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania implemented - Description of test consumer market needs - Mobilization of needs assessment facilitators and needs assessment template developed - Two workshops with needs assessment facilitators - implemented - Meeting between needs assessment facilitators and entrepreneurs - done at individual levels. - Contact template designed - Process documentation done
