Reference number
Coordinator Stiftelsen Svensk Industridesign
Funding from Vinnova SEK 500 000
Project duration September 2012 - September 2013
Status Completed

Important results from the project

Create a vision of how Sweden´s competitiveness can be strengthened through design and its impact on innovation. Create conditions for a variety of stakeholders and sectors to be able to apply design thinking and design methods. Communicate design as a working method for solving problems, creating value and communicate change and development. Design as the cornerstone of all innovation applies whether the improvement comprises a product, service, environment or laws, rules and policies.

Expected long term effects

The result is the Design Agenda, which visualizes the current situation, needs, actors and a joint vision. The effect of the agenda process is a framework in which many players find areas of ´ownership´ and the opportunity to contribute, influence and change. The process itself has given many involved opportunities to apply design methods in new or unexpected areas. The process has also strengthened cooperation between actors in the field of design and innovation.

Approach and implementation

A design process with transverse, broad collaboration with workshops, filmed discussions, meetings and seminars. The process has enabled the participants to undergo a design process, learning the process to be able to use this in their work. The workshop process was developed by Doberman and used throughout the Agenda process in different forms. The aim of the process was for the participants to understand their needs of design, their different users and to provide input to the overall agenda process.
