Den interaktiva riddräkten
|Coordinator||RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB - Interactive Institute, Göteborg|
|Funding from Vinnova||SEK 2 000 000|
|Project duration||July 2016 - January 2019|
Purpose and goal
The project´s aim is to develop new products for the equestrian field that can assess the rider´s posture while riding (i.e. seat) and then give said rider feedback in real time. The feedback given is regarding to how the posture needs to be corrected to optimize the rider´s seat. The overall goal is to develop fully automatic interactive riding gear that can be further developed and adjusted for use in other areas for example other sports, postures, ergonomics and rehabilitation.
Expected results and effects
The time required to learn the correct seat, and/or to refine it, is expected to be shortened considerably when riders are able to get instant feedback, in real time, regarding their body´s position. Today this is hard to accomplish even with an instructor. When the project is completed the result will be products that can be used by riders of all levels, from pleasure to competitive riders, to effectively train and refine the cornerstone within the equestrian sport the rider´s seat.
Planned approach and implementation
The project plan is to, in collaboration with project partners, further develop and refine the well functioning current prototypes to get them into the market, with a suitable business model. The work on the fully automatic riding gear continues simultaneously. The overall target aim is that this equipment will be available on the open market and help riders gain and maintain a correct seat whenever they train with their horse/s.
