Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project ‘Data2Action’ is to enable system innovation in the railway sector with a particular focus on the operation and maintenance processes. The aim of the project is to design and propose an integrated model for proactive maintenance with a focus on four main areas, namely: business case (incl. cost and investment aspects), regulatory framework, implementation and technology.
Expected effects and result
Expected results are: 1) an information model, 2) an investment model, 3) a maintenance model, 4) a regulatory model, 5) a business model, 6) a technology model. Expected effects are: 1) a more sustainable, efficient, resilient railway system through effective maintenance; 2) improved capacity utilization of the railway system; 3) more efficient maintenance process; 4) improved industry collaboration; and 5) funding for faster implementation of emerging technologies.
Planned approach and implementation
Results will be achieved by: 1) Each actor providing a picture of how implementation can be carried out, who does what and what information/equipment each actor needs to be able to do their best, 2) We develop variants of models and what is required for implementation, 3) We jointly develop solution proposals and suggest how parties should be involved, 4) Generalization of results creates models for the railway industry.
